Welna

We are an industrial investor in composite solutions

Our solutions About us

“We invest in plastic composite companies and financially support their development. We invest for the longer term, not for short term gain, and aim to strategically align our investments with the industrial and commercial activities of the Plasticon Composites group of companies.”

Who we are

Welna is an industrial holding and investment company. Welna is the sole shareholder of the Plasticon Group of companies, which consists of the Business Units: Plasticon Composites, Plasticon International Contracting and Plasticon China. They are independently managed and financed but cooperate commercially and technically.

Plasticon, a company founded in 1950 and producer of Glass Fiber Reinforced (“GRP”) vessels and piping, was partly acquired in 1959 via Welna. In 1961 Welna became the 100% shareholder. After the textile business was divested in the 1970’s, Welna focused on acquiring a number of other GRP companies which were all combined under the Plasticon brand name.

Welna was founded in 1965 by the Ter Kuile family . Its purpose was to hold, but keep separate, the original Ter Kuile textile business from the newly acquired plastic companies.

Plasticon Group
